Elevator Pitch No. 2

Most of the comments that I received on my first elevator pitch focused on their appreciation of my concern for the environment and small businesses. This encouraged me to shift the focus of my video from only what I was doing to how it would actually help people. I also made sure to address both how it would help the small businesses and the people who are paying to advertise because this is important for the revenue stream. I think that the most important critique that I got on my last video was that I was too stiff and seemed focus on the facts rather than how I could help people. I took this advice to heart and tried to be more animated in this pitch and to seem more excited and hopeful about the product.

    Alex,
    This is such an improvement from your last pitch! You had my attention the whole time. I can tell you are really passionate about your product. I also liked how you touched more on small businesses vs larger businesses. You were definitely more animated, but you could be even more enthusiastic with your voice- make people want it as much as you do!

    Hi Alex!
    I didn't do my first elevator pitch, so I wasn't able to critique anyone else's. I went back to watch yours, and I agree with Lauren that you have improved substantially. I'm glad that you were standing up. I feel like standing up makes people move more which is great because people don't look so robotic. It gives them more energy and more authority. I think you did a great job!

    Hey Alex, I really liked your elevator pitch. I didn't see the last one but you were able to touch on a lot of important things in this video which made me understand your product better. You seem really passionate about saving the environment and what's the harm in doing so if you make a buck in the process. Good Job.

    I remember your first elevator pitch and you definitely improved it all around! Because you are standing up this time, I felt like you were a professional delivering an actual presentation. I really liked your hook as most people will relate to what you said as many know about these environmental issues. I really enjoyed your pitch, great job!

    Great work Alex!
    Your improvements were quite noticeable and helped with the flow of the video. With these improvements your ideas were much more clear and allowed the audience to fully grasp your presentation. Many startup businesses rely a lot on their first pitch and you are well on your way to nailing that first impression. This first pitch needs to catch investors, by showing you are confident with your speaking you in turn show that you're confident with your product and help investors or consumers see what you see. Keep up the good work.

My Bug List: When the Starbucks at 13th and 16th moved to their new location, they added a drive-thru, and now when I order my drink inside, it takes much longer. The employees are encouraged to get drinks to the people in the drive-thru faster than those inside. At the intersection of 13th and University Ave, it is nearly impossible to make a right turn because it is a “no turn on red” intersection and when the turning light is green, pedestrians are also allowed to cross the road. You have to wait for all of the students to cross the road even though you have a green light because pedestrians have right of way. Forming an Opportunity Belief Original Belief: The citizens of Gainesville would benefit from public parks being accessible and well-lit at night. Original Belief Explanation: There are very few public parks that are available for use at night because the majority of nature parks and recreational facilities in Gainesville close at dusk. The few fields that do have lights after dark are on the University of Florida campus or are nearby to it, which appeals to students but not the majority of the Gainesville community. These fields are also only lit when classes are in session for UF students and are not always accessible to non-students. I think this is a problem because many people have to work until the evening and when they get off work, they are unable to access these areas.
